More About Our Society and Our Culture

The temple inside the emblem is the shrine of deity Sangameshwar, worshipped by not only the people of Chadchan but also by the people of all the surrounding villages. The educational institution is named after this deity. The temple was built in the 12th century. The deity is the Ishwar Linga (Shiva Linga). Shri Sangameshwar temple was built on the banks of the confluence of the River Bori and the stream called Jeerankalagi.

The inscription on the emblem ‘Aridede Sharana’ means ‘Self Knowledge Leads to Sainthood’, the well known saying of the great Vachanakars (Writers) of 12th Century, the social reformers of Karnataka led-by the well-known thinker Basavanna. It reveals the motto of the institution to illumine the lives of the common people by providing holistic education.
